What A Mess
In tandem with Pitt taking out West Virginia, Oklahoma claimed the Big 12 championship and created a BCS nightmare. Perhaps there should be no championship game for 2007. Give the trophy to Hawaii and call it a year.
Deep Thoughts On A Sunday Morning
Good stuff from the Sooners as they once again "lucked out" against Mizzou. That makes five Big 12 Championships this decade. KU would have liked a tipped ball INT at Arrowhead, but I guess speed kills. KU has a strong defense, but I'm not sure they can claim the overall speed that OU has. Looks like we've got a good shot at a head-to-head comparison.
So, nothing would surprise me this evening, but it looks like KU will go to a BCS bowl while Mizzou gets the Cotton Bowl. Hey, we're about as anti-Mizzou here as it gets, but that doesn't seem quite right. I'd say all three teams deserve to be in the BCS, but that's against "the rules." The only thing I guess you can say is that MU knew the score going into the last two games. The bowl system defines fickle. Last year, we can't even get into the International Bowl. This year the BCS wants us. I guess the point is to be in the mix every year and suffer through the good and bad. Plus, I'd have traded a BCS bid for a north title in a heartbeat.
I grudgingly gained some respect for Chase Daniel last weekend at Arrowhead. I was pretty disappointed at his display of poor sportsmanship last night on numerous occasions. We all understand being passionate about the game, but I think his attitude had a negative effect on his team. As a senior next year, he may want to get that in check.
