Ryan Wood mentioned in his notes this weekend that the Seattle Times was indicating that Bill Young was a candidate for their defensive coordinator position. The only reference I found at that site was this blog entry --  http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/huskyfootball/2008/01/wednesday_morning_notes_1.html

A critical entry in the post is this:

"I have not been able to confirm this through any official channels, so I'm passing it along here merely as a rumor."

There is now a mention on CSTV that also adds Miami as a possibility: http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/stories/011408aav.html

One thing, I've spent some time discussing Bill Young versus the spread. Let me state officially that I think he is the best d-coordinator in the Big 12 and one of the biggest single factors for the overall turnaround at KU. My comments about Bill versus the spread apply to most d-coordinators. Anyway, I had to relieve myself of some guilt in case he leaves.

I have zero credibility since I said Tim Beck likely wouldn't leave for a lateral move; however, every indication has been that Bill loves Lawrence and is ready to settle in. I would really hate to lose him.
