Rock Chalk Roundtable 1.4 -- Tech Preview

Hawk Digest Tech Preseason Preview

The Scene
KU has never beaten Texas Tech in Lawrence. You'll never get any respect with that figure being thrown around. The road team has won four of the six games in this series since the programs joined the Big 12.

The Key
The Jayhawk defense has to get past the concept that it is okay to allow Tech to score. This is a good offense, but it's not OU or Texas or even Mizzou for that matter. If you're comfortable sitting behind Tech in the Big 12 power structure, then you're not one of the Fighting Mangino's. It's time to get your headgear on and defend your goalline (see Darrell Stuckey).

The Motivation
10-2 is still out there. In fact, with a win tomorrow, it becomes quite visible.

The Bullets

"I think that you have to put things on the field that our players do best and execute those. We need to be good in coverages, but we also need to do a good job of putting pressure on the quarterback. We cannot allow him to sit back there because he will find somebody open. We have to be good at coverage, but we also need to find ways to have him get rid of the football sooner."
