Thought we'd check in on the all-time win list (below) for Kansas football coaches. Mark Mangino currently holds a tie for fourth with Don Fambrough at 37 wins. I think it'll be over for Don in week one. The reality is third place is pretty much a lock and Mangino has a pretty legitimate shot at #2 ... all he has to do is duplicate last year's record. Final summation: start interviewing statue makers.
Other Notes of Interest:
--Three of the top six KU coaches have losing records
--We sure don't talk about A.R. Kennedy enough
--KU has a great history in football. Until last year though you just couldn't call it a "recent" history. When Kennedy finished up in 1910, KU had an all-time record of 126-46-10
53 ... A.R. "Bert" Kennedy ('04-'10) ... 53-9-4
47 ... Glen Mason ('88-96) ... 47-54-1
42 ... Jack Mitchell ('58-66) ... 42-44-5
37 ... Don Fambrough ('71-82*) ... 37-48-5
37 ... Mark Mangino ('02-current) ... 37-36-0
35 ... Jules V. Sikes ('48-53) ... 35-25-0
