Mangino Again Confirms Tight Race at QB

From the Topeka-Capital Journal:

"The reality of it is there's not any separation at this point in time,'' said Mangino, "but when things heat up in August and they get the rest of the offensive system put in their lap and they have to perform, we'll see what happens.

"I'll say this right now. I feel we have two really good quarterbacks, but we'd prefer to play one guy. That's not to say we're absolutely handcuffed to the thought of playing just one, but that would be our preference.''

Speaking of potential tight races. How bout Angus moving back to RB? I'm personally happy to see some competition for Jake Sharp. I know BMac will get some carries, but I think we're going to have RB by committee, and Quigley can only help the situation.

Here is the article KUSports posted today:

Based on the 2006 Spring Game, I'm excited to have Quigley back at RB. I was pretty puzzled to see him at wideout during this year's spring game. If AQ is fully recovered, I certainly think he has the capability to be an every down back. I think the expectations for Boyd-Anderson must be pretty high for the staff to have been pushing AQ to wide out. Suffice it to say between Sharp, B-Mac, AQ and CBA I expect someone to emerge as a legitimate Big 12 back in 2007. Plus, I certainly enjoy the thought of thunder and lightning mix of B-Mac and Sharp.
