Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #6

Last week the VIC-20 super-computer was 7-0 straight up and even had a winning record as a spread beater at 4-3. Overall, the VIC stands at 15-5 straight up and 8-10 versus the spread. At $1000 per game, I guess I'm down $2500 right now. Ouch.

Week #6 on deck:

Texas 34 @ Colorado 24
Vegas has Texas -14 / Well, the Buffs are certainly prepared -- they did beat OU at home last year.

Texas A&M 28 @ OSU 32
Vegas has OSU -24.5 / I don't see this as a four-point game but 24.5 is a lot to cover for a team that 39 points plus to BCS teams at home last year.

Oklahoma 38 @ Baylor 21
Vegas has OU -27 / The big spreads make me nervous, but I'm pretty sure it won't be as close as the VIC-20 predicts.

Texas Tech 32 @ Kansas State 36
Vegas has Tech -7.5 / This is a tough sell, but Mizzou was the only team that went into Manhattan last year and pushed the Cats around. Too bad Tech is sort of like MU.

Mizzou 39 @ Nebraska 25
Vegas has MU -10.5 / It's hard for me to imagine MU scoring less than 40.

Kansas 33 @ Iowa State 17
Vegas has KU -13 / I'd be pretty happy with this result.

Big fat "WOW" on the Tech/Kitty game. At first I thought this game should be at least Tech -10 but I got to thinking about KSU's past two Texas games and I don't think I'm laying anything other than Monopoly money on that one.

It's a strange week with all of the road favorites, the most interesting thing might be to rank the in order of best chance to pull the upset. My list:

1) Colorado
2) KSU
3) Nebraska
4) Iowa State
5) A&M
6) Baylor

Other than my flip of CU and KSU that just follows the betting lines, so I guess that is no big revelation

I'd shuffle your list just a little::

1)Colorado
2)KSU
3)ISU -Road game for KU and home for OU is the only reason these aren't flipped.
3)Baylor -It'd require a big time brain fart by OU (see OU@ISU last year)
4)Nebraska - Their defense is just bad. Alot is being put into "MU hasn't won in Lincoln since the Carter administration" when any of the games in the 80's have absolutely zero bearing on the game this year. ...side note, I'd absolutely love to eat my words here and Nebraska tromp all over MU.
6)A&M - They are just bad and it's in Stillwater

The Sooners are on the road as well ... but overall, if I was a fan of any of those teams, I could make a case for an upset in each game -- even the Aggies.
