Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: OU/MU Championship Game

As usual, the VIC-20 supercomputer is picking a close one. On paper, you sure like OU and Bob Stoops, but the Tigers sure have a few things in their favor -- the cold, a serious desire to erase the KU game, recent experience on the turf and probably a pretty good base fans at Arrowhead. We'll see:

Oklahoma 38, Missouri 33
Vegas has moved OU up to a 17-point favorite this week

At Texas Tech 39, Baylor 19

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #14 A&M at Texas

Looks like I will be rolling these out one day at a time, so I can enjoy the holidays. Here's tonight's score projected by the VIC-20 super computer (because only a computer could be this far off):

At Texas 39, Texas A&M 29
Vegas is more on track with UT (-35)

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #13

Big Saturday

Well, the Time Warner server was out yesterday a.m., so that delayed the computer predictions until today. Seriously, the computer/internet revolution is over-rated. Long live print. Anyway, a huge Saturday on tap as Tech/OU is the equivalent of KU/Mizzou last year and the Big 12 can claim a major victory ins sports culture because TV sets across the north will be tuned in. Enough jabber -- the VIC-20 supercomputer is now 41-14 straight up and a beautiful 19-34 against the spread. Here are your projections for today (past performance clearly does not guarantee future results):

at Kansas State 33, Iowa State 29
Vegas wants a final tribute for Captain Ron (-9.5)

Texas Tech 35, at Oklahoma 35
Yes, the VIC-20 predicts a tie. Except, not so fast my friend, dig deeper and VIC says Tech 35.15 to OU's 34.90, so that must mean an overtime victory for the Red Raiders and a gift-wrapped Big 12 Championship. Guns up?
Vegas says Boomer Sooner (-7)

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #12

Currently the Hawk Digest VIC-20 supercomputer is 37-13 straight up. As a spread beater -- 18-30. The VIC-20 almost projected all five road teams, but gave up on Baylor. Personally, I like Baylor in that game. Surely, somebody will win at home this week.

Mizzou 38, at Iowa State 26
Vegas likes the Tigers (-28)

Nebraska 42, at Kansas State 37
Vegas has NU (-7)

Texas 34, at Kansas 33
Say it ain't so, supercomputer
Vegas votes for Bevo (-13)

OSU 33, at Colorado 26
Vegas is a 40-year-old man (-17)

At Texas A&M 33, Baylor 25
Vegas backs Robert Griffin (-8)

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #11 - Captain Ron Edition

Well, the coach formerly known as Captain Ron, aka Scary Smart, aka Bold and Daring is now a lame Prince. It made for an interesting afternoon on 810 Sports with Jack Harry and Kevin Keitzman going kinda psycho. Trouble within the Axis of Evil, dear?

Like the Terry Allen dismissal, some were disappointed that he was let go mid-season. Hey, talk to the folks at Circuit City. Getting the axe as the head man of a college program is a brutal public episode and I think everyone has some compassion from that perspective (except maybe the hardcore KSU fans), but in the end, Ron is going to come out okay financially. In fact, I believe he'll go on to become a fantastic color announcer for some network. He can break down a game with the best. Those who can't do -- get jobs in the media.

Okay, down to business. The VIC 20 supercomputer is now 16-26 versus the spread. Impressive. This is a reverse spread money machine. Straight up the VIC is 33-11. This week's predictions:

At MU 39, KSU 27
Vegas votes no on Prince making MU a 27-point favorite

At Texas 40, Baylor 20
Vegas likes UT (-27)

At Colorado 30, Iowa State 25
Vegas loves the Buffs (-9.5). This one is televised -- wee hoo!

OSU 35, at Texas Tech 34
Vegas has Tech (-3)

Oklahoma 38, at Texas A&M 24
Vegas has OU (-27)

Kansas 45, at Nebraska 36
Vegas opened with KU, but as of today Nebraska is the favorite (-1)

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #9

Okay, the computer issues are coming to a resolution and we're going to be able to get the usual departments back in the swing. For those that were expecting to cash in and quit your day job last week by using the Predict-O machine as a reverse spread predictor, I apologize for the inconvenience:

At Kansas 34, Texas Tech 30
Vegas lists KU (-1.5)

At Missouri 38, Colorado 23
Vegas lists MU (-21.5)

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores: Week #6

Last week the VIC-20 super-computer was 7-0 straight up and even had a winning record as a spread beater at 4-3. Overall, the VIC stands at 15-5 straight up and 8-10 versus the spread. At $1000 per game, I guess I'm down $2500 right now. Ouch.

Week #6 on deck:

Texas 34 @ Colorado 24
Vegas has Texas -14 / Well, the Buffs are certainly prepared -- they did beat OU at home last year.

Texas A&M 28 @ OSU 32
Vegas has OSU -24.5 / I don't see this as a four-point game but 24.5 is a lot to cover for a team that 39 points plus to BCS teams at home last year.

Oklahoma 38 @ Baylor 21
Vegas has OU -27 / The big spreads make me nervous, but I'm pretty sure it won't be as close as the VIC-20 predicts.

Texas Tech 32 @ Kansas State 36
Vegas has Tech -7.5 / This is a tough sell, but Mizzou was the only team that went into Manhattan last year and pushed the Cats around. Too bad Tech is sort of like MU.

Mizzou 39 @ Nebraska 25
Vegas has MU -10.5 / It's hard for me to imagine MU scoring less than 40.

Kansas 33 @ Iowa State 17
Vegas has KU -13 / I'd be pretty happy with this result.

Big 12 Predict-O-Scores | Week #5

Last week the VIC-20 went 6-3 straight up, but notched a brutal 2-5 record as a spread-beater. The good news is if that pace continues, the VIC-20 may work as in inverse spread predictor. Sort of the George Costanza of football gambling. Overall, the VIC stands at 8-5 straight up and 4-7 versus the spread. Week #5 on deck:

Lousiana-Lafayette 18, @ KSU 37
Vegas has KSU -21

Virginia Tech 32, @ Nebraska 27
Vegas has NU -7

Colorado 20, Florida State 25 at Jacksonville, FLA
Vegas has FSU -6

TCU 16, @ Oklahoma 41
Vegas has OU -17.5

Troy 27, @ OSU 38
Vegas has OSU -17

Army 20, @ Texas A&M 33
Vegas has A&M -28.5

Arkansas 31, @ Texas 36
Vegas has Texas -27.5

Brand New Big 12 Predict-O-Scores - Week #3

The week we unveil the Hawk Digest Predict-O-Score results developed in the HD summer R&D lab. The Predict-O-Score VIC-20 supercomputer has never been wrong. Of course, it's also never been tested before, but let's fire this sucker up with a few of the BCS match-ups for the Big 12 this week:

Kansas 29, @ South Florida 27
Vegas line is USF -3.5

Oklahoma 34, @ Washington 27
Vegas line is OU -20.5

Iowa State 17, @ Iowa 27
Vegas line is Iowa -13.5

Washington State 30, @ Baylor 26
Vegas line is now PICK EM (Baylor opened at -5)

Yes, the Predict-O-Score Computer picked three out of four road games. Results are absolutely not guaranteed.
