Probably The Best Anti-KU, Cornhusker Slanted Piece I've Read

Hey, I made it all the way to the end on this one. I think this captures flavor:

"And so here we are in 2008 again staring at the existential question for Kansas football: How good can you be? At least one SI writer asked that question in 1968 and it would be 40 years before anyone would bother to ask it again, but we're there now. Will Kansas football, going forward, be Johnny Cash (universally adored, a winner) or Richard Nixon (mostly reviled, a loser)?"
Cash or Nixon? Those are my choices. Surely Johnny Cash isn't the only winner to come out of the sixties? Okay, wait -- I'm drawing a blank.

On a more serious note, if they really are going to make Donald Draper into a pathetic has-been this season, they're going to lose me. I'm already in serious mourning over the loss of  the "shore leave" version of Roger Sterling.

So who do you choose?

What, you expected fair and balanced? :)

"What, you expected fair and balanced? :)"

Not when I'm on the internet. I read a lot of anti-KU football material lately. In fact, I think that's all there is. I did say it was the best piece I've read. It was supposed to be a compliment.

In answer to the question, I feel pretty good about where we are going. When you've got veteran defense that returns nine plus an experienced QB with a 12-1 record as a starter, it's hard not to be excited about the season.

Yeah, my comments were meant tongue in cheek.

KU fans *should* be optimistic. I personally think it will be you and Missou battling it out for the North this year.

Good luck!

gotcha --

the big 12 north battle. Well, I could literally make a legitimate case for 5 of the 6 teams to win the north. Obviously some teams look better than others, but I think it's got a shot at being pretty wide-open. I think you may have given me my next post topic
